Workshop Objectives

Participants will

• Gain knowledge about validity and reliability, two key components in the construction of assessment instruments
• Be able to define internal and external validity
• Be able to identify strategies to strengthen content and construct validity
• Gain knowledge on alternate form reliability, internal reliability, and inter-rater reliability
• Gain knowledge on reliability analysis and reliability analysis models
  

• Moderate familiarity with test development for courses and/or programs
  

• Defining validity and reliability
• Examining issues of validity and reliability in assessment instruments
• Using strategies to strengthen content and construct validity
• Employing strategies to strengthen reliability
• Examining alternate form, internal reliability and inter-rater reliability
• Using Reliability Analysis Models
