The Foundation
Coalition (FC) mission, first on our own campuses and then nationally
by leadership in dissemination, replication, and capacity building,
is to (1) establish improved curricula and learning environments,
(2) attract and retain a more demographically diverse student body,
and (3) graduate engineers who possess those transforming attributes
that fully reflect FC student outcomes.
- Appreciation and motivation
for lifelong learning;
- Ability to participate
in effective teams;
- Oral, written, graphical,
and visual communication skills;
- Ability to appropriately
apply the fundamentals of mathematics and the sciences;
- Capability to integrate
knowledge from different disciplines to define problems, develop
and evaluate alternative solutions, and specify appropriate solutions;
- Flexibility and competence
in using modern technology effectively for analysis, design, and
communication; and
- Ability to design a
system, component, or process to meet desired needs.
- The world in which our
graduates will work is changing rapidly, and these student attributes
are essential for our graduates to meet the demands placed on
them.
