Calculation of Results
- Introduction
After the influence line has been constructed, and the proper
positioning of all loads acting on the structure has been
determined, the maximum shear, moment, or other action at
any point in the structure can be determined by summing
the product of the magnitude of the load times the corresponding
height of the influence line.
- Instructional Objectives
The student should be able to compute the maximum results
possible for reactions, shears, or moments in a simply supported
beam.
