Placement of Loads Such That They Cause Maximum Results

• Introduction
  A visual inspection of an influence line permits the engineer to quickly position both moving and stationary loads such that their placement will cause the largest magnitude of shear, moment, or other force possible at any point in the structure.
• Instructional Objectives
  The student whould be able to correctly place loads on beams such that their position causes a maximum shear, moment, or other action at any specified point in a simple beam.
