Description
Facilitators will introduce the concepts of active and cooperative learning and will explore the five elements of cooperative learning: positive interdependence, individual accountability, group processing, develop of social skills, and face-to-face interaction. Examples of how faculty members can incorporate each of the five elements into their classes will be offered. Results of several studies on active/cooperative learning will be offered. Workshop participants will have opportunities to develop short lesson plans for their classes that incorporate active/cooperative learning.
