How might a student team apply this information to imrpove its approaches to conflict and/or skills in managing conflict within the team?

Listed below are ways a student team may work on conflict resolution:

  • Establish a protocol for team communication. See Nancy Kline’s book9 for suggestions.
  • Discuss each team member’s communication strengths and weaknesses and how each of these can impact the team.
  • Practice good communication skills as a team activity. Practice activities include using active listening and giving and receiving constructive criticism.
