|
Review basic concepts associated with Coulomb friction. This information is presented |
in R/S 9.1-9.2 (pp. 471-479). Reference #8 presents an outline of some of the important |
concepts to be covered. |
|
Example problems are presented in Worked Problem Set #8. |

Notes: |
|
It is assumed that the discussion on Coulomb friction merely provides a review of |
concepts that the students have already seen in Physics. Therefore, the material can be |
covered much more quickly than would otherwise be the case. It is important for the student |
to understand that the friction force is not always equal to N. |
