Heat Transfer Application in Solids

Summary

This Chapter takes the Conservation of Thermal Energy and Fourier's Heat Conduction Law for a continuum and applies these principles to set up boundary value problems involving heat transfer in solid materials. The application problems considered involve heat flux through walls consisting of a single material and also through composite walls consisting of several materials in series. The given Example problems set up boundary value problems (governing differential equations and boundary conditions) to be solved for the temperature distribution in these single material and composite material walls.
